"Digital Day": Schoolchildren will be taught to work with AI and protect themselves in the digital world

      A new season of the all-Russian project "Digital Day" for children's camps has started in Russia: in a playful format, schoolchildren will get acquainted with artificial intelligence, the basics of cybersecurity, and IT professions. The program, implemented in support of the national project "Data Economy," has been helping to develop basic digital competencies in children for the fifth year.

      Schoolchildren across the country will be able to master key digital skills as part of the "Digital Day" project, which in the new season places special emphasis on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The initiators of the project are the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Digital Economy," the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Russia, and leading Russian technology companies. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The project, which has been introducing students to IT professions and modern technologies for the fifth year, has been specially adapted for summer children's camps. Classes are structured in a game format to make the mastery of complex topics accessible and engaging.

      The preparation of educational materials for the new season involved the Charitable Foundation "Contribution to the Future," as well as the companies "1C," "Yandex," and VK. Thus, VK will present participants with modules on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and current digital technologies. The company "1C" has prepared content dedicated to user interfaces. Special attention is given to the topic of AI: a series of thematic events has been developed by the Charitable Foundation "Contribution to the Future."

      The program includes a variety of interactive formats:

      - quiz "Digital Skills" with diverse tasks;

      - a collection of six tabletop mini-games about technologies;

      - team quest simulation "Assembly Protocol";

      - role-playing game "Tech Startup";

      - floor game "Path to AI";

      - thematic classes "Technologies for Life" and "Learn Honestly," where schoolchildren will be told about the ethical use of neural networks in studies and project activities.

      According to the director of the personnel training department for the digital economy of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Digital Economy," Yulia Goryachkina, digital literacy today is one of the basic competencies. The project helps make schoolchildren's acquaintance with modern technologies understandable, interesting, and systematic. Together with government structures and IT companies, the organizers are forming an educational environment where children can learn about the prospects of the Russian IT industry, directions of the digital economy, future professions, and how to use modern digital tools safely and responsibly. The main goal of the initiative is to awaken schoolchildren's interest in studying technologies and to show the real opportunities that the domestic IT sector opens up.
