At the traditional square in Cheremshan, the main holiday of the Tatarstan press unfolded today. The Media Sabantuy-2026 took place in the Cheremshan district, gathering journalists, editors, and technical specialists from leading publications of the republic in one venue. The event united teams from all branches of JSC "Tatmedia," who arrived from different corners of Tatarstan to summarize the interim results of the year and engage in informal communication. The head of the executive committee of the Cheremshan district, Ilnur Zamaletdinov, addressed the media representatives with a welcoming speech, reading a message from the head of the municipality, Ramil Aybatov. The general director of the media holding JSC "Tatmedia," Shamil Sadikov, emphasized the strategic importance of the work of regional journalists: "In every city, in every settlement, in every district, our editorial offices are working. The journalists of 'Tatmedia' make a huge contribution to the development of the republic. Without your daily work, it is impossible to imagine today's life in the region." The festive program started with a traditional media parade and a theatrical gathering of gifts for the participants of the competitions. National courtyards, craft fairs, and trading points were organized for the guests. Participants of the holiday were treated to hot pancakes and tea from samovars. The sports part of the Sabantuy included both classic folk disciplines and humorous competitions. Journalists were to test their strength in the following events: bag fighting on a log; sawing wood with a two-handed saw; running in flippers; national wrestling koresh; tug of war; pull-ups on a horizontal bar and lifting weights; volleyball, arm wrestling, and a power extreme tournament.
Additionally, during the sports festival, a ceremony was held to award participants of the annual corporate Spartakiad. The organizers announced the names of the winners in the individual standings and declared the winning teams.
