Recently, residents of the republic have been receiving more frequent calls from scammers who pose as employees of the Social Fund. The fraudsters offer to schedule an appointment with the client service, claiming that the citizen's surname has appeared on a list of people with insufficient insurance experience. They demand to be given a code for "identification," threatening to revoke the pension if refused. Employees of the Social Fund never request passport details, SNILS, or codes from SMS over the phone. Questions related to pension provision and insurance experience are resolved only through personal visits to the client service. There are no "lists" of names for urgent appointments. The branch of the Social Fund for the Republic of Tatarstan recommends not engaging in dialogue with strangers, not disclosing personal information, and not returning calls to suspicious numbers. If such a call is received, the conversation should be immediately terminated, and the police should be contacted. "Any calls threatening to revoke a pension and demanding personal information are fraudulent. Employees of the Social Fund do not make such demands. We ask you to be vigilant and not to fall for provocations," noted Edward Vafin, the manager of the branch of the Social Fund for the Republic of Tatarstan.
