Allergy can be brought under control.
From July 6 to July 12, Russia is holding the Allergy Disease Prevention Week. The event is timed to coincide with World Allergy Day, which is celebrated on July 8. The number of people with allergic diseases is increasing worldwide — allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, allergic bronchial asthma, food allergies, and others. Allergic diseases include asthma, rhinitis, anaphylaxis, drug and food allergies, insect venom allergies, eczema, and urticaria, angioedema. The onset of allergies is often not related to a person's overall health. Any substance can provoke an allergy at any moment. Summer is a period of active flowering. In July, for example, in the central regions, allergenic plants such as wormwood, goosefoot, nettle, and grasses (rye) bloom. In southern regions, ambrosia begins to bloom in the second half of the month. This is one of the strongest allergens. In dry, windy weather, when pollen is carried over long distances, the likelihood of allergies increases. If it is not possible to temporarily move to another climate zone, the following rules should be followed: • limit time spent outdoors; • avoid trips to nature (to the countryside, forests, dachas, picnics); • keep windows closed (in rooms, in cars); • install air purification and filtration systems at home, use special screens on windows; • conduct wet cleaning daily; • upon returning from the street, take a shower, wash your hair, and change clothes; rinse your mouth, wash your eyes and nose with saline solution. Timely consultation with a doctor, early diagnosis, and treatment help prevent the development of severe forms of allergic pathology. This result is also facilitated by regular health check-ups and preventive examinations, as well as outpatient monitoring of patients with identified allergic diseases with the participation of an allergist-immunologist and other specialists.
