      The Zainsk GRES arrived at the competition as the reigning champion—and proudly defended its title. Five races, dozens of participants, and a complete triumph for the team of energy workers, who left their opponents with no chance at all.

      Legendary start in Kazan: the battle for the cup

      In the capital of Tatarstan, the atmosphere of big sports reigned—there was the traditional athletics relay dedicated to the memory of R.K. Aritkulov. This event annually gathers the strongest teams from the energy sector, and 2026 was no exception. Representatives from power plants and enterprises of the republic participated in the races, each dreaming of taking the honorary trophy home. But the Zainsk GRES team had special plans. They arrived at the competition as the winners of the previous season—and had no intention of giving up their leadership. Preparation for this day took several months: athletes trained, honed their baton-passing technique, and worked on their endurance to approach the start in optimal shape.

      Five races—one victory

      The competitive program included five stages, each requiring maximum concentration and team cohesion. Participants had to not only show speed but also synchronize their actions within the team—a slightest mistake in the baton exchange could cost them victory. The Zainsk energy workers acted clearly and coolly. They confidently passed all distances, increasing their pace from stage to stage. Opponents tried to catch up with the leader, but the Zainsk team maintained their standard—they crossed the finish line first, confirming their championship title. The cup named after R.K. Aritkulov is once again heading to Zainsk, and this is becoming a good tradition.

      Individual standings: a complete podium for us

      But the overall team victory is just part of the success. The athletes of Zainsk GRES shone in individual races, taking almost all the prize places in their age categories. Here’s how the awards were distributed:

      Regina Volkova (Electrical Shop) — deserved I place among participants over 36 years old. Experience and iron nerves helped her outpace all competitors.

      Anastasia Agashkina (Electrical Shop) — II place in the category under 36 years old. Just one step separated her from gold, but the result is brilliant.

      Alexey Stepanov (Boiler-Turbine Shop-2) — III place in the age group 36+, proving that age is just a number against the strength of spirit.

      Ilfat Akhtyamzyanov (Electrical Shop) — I place among men under 36 years old. Youth, speed, and tactical thinking brought him absolute victory.

      A reason for pride: victory earned through sweat

      After the finish, the team shared their emotions: according to them, success was the result of long and hard work. The training sessions that took place since early spring bore fruit—each participant gave their all.

      The station management and colleagues have already congratulated the athletes on their triumphant return. Ahead of them are new competitive seasons, but this day will be remembered for a long time. Zainsk GRES once again confirmed: they know how to not only produce energy but also win in the most intense sports battles. Let’s wish the team new records and bright starts!
