       Tatarstan has been recognized as one of the leaders in the implementation of "smart" roads. In the republic, traffic lights are managed automatically, and cameras record violations.

       The Republic of Tatarstan has become one of the advanced regions of Russia in terms of the scale and quality of implementing intelligent transport systems, which today radically change the appearance of road infrastructure and enhance traffic safety. As reported by Radik Farazutdinov, Deputy Head of the Federal Road Agency, the republic is one of the leaders among Russian regions in the development and use of ITS within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," and the high level of digitalization of the transport network is demonstrated by the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga." It is in the territory of the SEZ that technologies are actively applied that significantly reduce accident rates and make road infrastructure safer and more predictable. Alongside Tatarstan, the Yaroslavl region is also named among the leaders. According to Farazutdinov, smart systems automatically regulate the operation of traffic lights depending on traffic density, monitor compliance with rules using violation recording cameras, and inform drivers about weather conditions and accidents through electronic boards. As previously reported, this year in Kazan, it is planned to connect about twelve more traffic lights to the automated system. The day before, it was reported that on the night of Thursday, July 2, in the Republic of Tatarstan, freight train cars derailed on the Gorky Railway. Due to the incident, train movement was temporarily suspended, and there were disruptions in the schedule of long-distance passenger trains.
