"What does it mean to be a leader?": The United Russia Public Support Headquarters in Tatarstan held a lecture for teenagers.
During the event, children, along with the headquarters team, discussed leadership, the qualities necessary for it, and played a game. The Headquarters team of public support for "United Russia" in the Republic of Tatarstan visited the children's health camp "Deep Lake." Here, a lecture titled "Leadership as it is" was held for children and teenagers. The lecturer, ambassador of the Russian Society "Knowledge," deputy head of the Headquarters Anastasia Isaeva, discussed with the children what it means to be a leader. Many opinions were voiced in the hall about how teenagers envision a team leader: some said that the main thing is responsibility and the ability to show empathy, while others noted the importance of qualities such as courage and charisma. Anastasia Isaeva helped the children form their own understanding of leadership. The young people learned about motivation, communication, and mentoring. Together with the speaker, the children figured out that a good leader is simultaneously a mentor, mediator, and visionary. To develop the necessary skills, Anastasia Isaeva suggested steps and practices for the kids. For example, to enhance communication, a quality that is important for unlocking potential, the children decided to try to hold team events more often and practice public speaking. The lecturer offered the kids a specific route for improving communication skills: from understanding themselves and their thoughts to the ability to listen. "The art of explanation is not just a skill of conveying information; it is the key to understanding, interaction, and ultimately success in any field," noted Anastasia Isaeva. At the end of the meeting, the kids participated in interactive activities led by event manager Roman Vladimirov. The children used collage techniques to represent the qualities they felt they were lacking. Afterward, each presented their creations, during which some teenagers discovered that their self-perception often differs from how others see them. To develop teamwork skills, the teenagers played a game consisting of 4 rounds of different thematic focus: from a stage filled with light humor to the intellectual component of a quiz. During the game, the kids demonstrated their erudition and ability to work as a team.
The trip to the "Deep Lake" children's health camp allowed for the continuation of educational work with the younger generation. Thanks to the meeting, the kids expanded their understanding of leadership and took the first step toward conscious self-analysis. Such projects by the Headquarters of public support for "United Russia" help raise a new generation ready to take responsibility, communicate effectively, and lead others.
