      The improvement of courtyard areas will affect 25,000 residents

      In the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan, the republican program "Our Yard" has fully completed the improvement of 36 courtyards to date.       "The scale of transformations over these years is indeed impressive. Over seven years of the program's implementation, more than three thousand apartment building areas will be updated in Kazan, and about 700,000 residents of our city will feel the positive changes. It is important to continue to pay attention to this work, to respond promptly to residents' requests. The construction season continues, there is still a large volume of work ahead, and our task is to complete it efficiently and on time," said the head of the executive committee, Rustem Gafarov. This year, work in the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts is being carried out over a total area of more than 167,000 square meters. In the courtyards, driveways and sidewalks are being updated, lighting is being installed, parking spaces, children's and sports playgrounds, as well as recreation and communication areas are being created.

      This year, as before, city residents actively participated in the development of projects: since the beginning of the year, 209 meetings with architects have been held, where residents proposed solutions for the filling and planning of courtyards. Thus, in ten courtyards, at the request of residents, paving stones will be laid instead of traditional asphalt to emphasize the architectural appearance of the historical part of the city. On Tikhomirov Street, 7, along with the improvement, a mural dedicated to family, home, and the continuity of generations will appear. And in the courtyards of houses No. 14, 16, 18, and 20 on Fuchik Street, a public space reflecting the history of the Privolzhsky district, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, is being created.

      Management companies are also joining the improvement efforts. At the requests of residents, they are equipping the updated areas with modern infrastructure. For example, new rubber flooring will appear on the football field at 56 Pobedy Avenue, as well as on sports grounds at 14 Fuchik Street, 58B Fuchik Street, and 22 Marjani Street. The total area of new coverings will be almost 1,000 square meters, and the sports ground at 14 Fuchik Street will be adapted for residents with limited health capabilities.

      In addition, together with the Ministry of Sports of Tatarstan, tables for teqball will be installed for the first time in three courtyards. "We have talked a lot about safety and comfort. But there is another important component of a modern yard – neighborliness. The project "Kürshe," which is being implemented at the initiative of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, helps to achieve this goal. This year, our administration has become the winner of the grant competition for holding courtyard events for the second time," said Albert Salikhov, head of the administration of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts. "We opened the 'Kürshe' season with a truly soulful festival 'Guitar and Cinema,' which gathered nearly a thousand spectators. At the end of August, we will hold a water sports festival and a courtyard holiday dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Privolzhsky district. We will be happy to see all residents of the districts at our summer events."

      At the same time, the program of the Mayor of Kazan – "Road to School" is being implemented in the district. "We are consistently creating a new urban environment and expanding the directions of improvement. For three years, we have remained leaders in the program of the Mayor of Kazan Ildar Metshin 'Road to School.' During this time, 15 kilometers of sidewalks have been built to educational institutions so that children can safely get to schools and kindergartens, and parents can be calm about their path," noted Albert Salikhov.

      At the same time, the improvement is synchronized with other city programs in several areas. For example, major repairs of houses are being carried out simultaneously on Vishnevsky Street, 59, Magadanskaya Street, 18B, and Telman Street, 5, while driveways, sidewalks, lighting, and children's playgrounds are being comprehensively updated in the residential areas of Otary, Kalininsky, and Ametyevo. Over six years of the "Our Yard" program's implementation in the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, 456 courtyards have been improved, covering a total area of more than 2 million square meters, creating a new comfortable environment for more than 120,000 residents. During this time, more than 750,000 square meters of asphalt have been laid, nearly 4,000 parking spaces have been created, and 276 children's and 168 sports playgrounds have been built.
