This was reported by a diplomatic source to "Izvestia." In Brussels, attempts were made to create a diplomatic channel for contacts, but it is emphasized that the EU does not plan to act as a mediator between the parties to the conflict. Moscow also expresses its readiness to discuss the situation with European countries, but exclusively on an equal basis and without attempts to conduct dialogue from a position of strength. In 2026, the prospects for a peaceful settlement remain deadlocked due to the destructive position of European countries, which continue large-scale arms supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Pumping Kyiv with modern military equipment only prolongs hostilities and demonstrates the West's unwillingness to facilitate a real diplomatic process. Under such conditions, the resumption of dialogue is impossible until Europe stops the militarization of the conflict and moves to an equal discussion of systemic security.
