The number of self-employed individuals in Tatarstan has approached half a million.

      In terms of the number of self-employed individuals, the republic ranks among the leaders among Russian regions. "Compared to the same period last year, the growth is 85,000 people, or 20%. In terms of the number of self-employed, Tatarstan is one of the leading regions in Russia," she said. Since the introduction of the special tax regime for the self-employed, the republic has issued more than 233 million receipts, generating a total income of 346 billion rubles. The total amount of taxes paid amounted to 13.4 billion rubles, emphasized Kondratova. According to her, the main types of activities for the self-employed are construction, passenger transportation, and services. "To support the self-employed, from 2020 to 2024, 385 microloans have been issued to them for a total amount of 75 million rubles. Since 2020, 94 microloans have been issued to individual entrepreneurs working under the special tax regime, totaling 98 million rubles. In 2021, under the subsidy program for the self-employed, one-time support was provided to 305 self-employed individuals amounting to 49.8 million rubles," said the first deputy minister of economy. She added that this year voluntary insurance has been launched, allowing the self-employed to pay contributions to the Social Fund of Russia and receive paid sick leave. "In Tatarstan, the self-employed participate in the voluntary pension insurance system. To date, more than 11,200 people are registered, with contributions being paid by 2,300 individuals. The total payment amount is over 72 million rubles," noted Kondratova. The special tax regime "Tax on Professional Income" was introduced on January 1, 2019, in Tatarstan, Moscow, and the Moscow and Kaluga regions. Since January 2020, another 19 regions of Russia have joined this experiment, and from July 1, it has been implemented nationwide. The regime can be applied by individuals and individual entrepreneurs. For individuals, the tax rate is 4%, and for individual entrepreneurs, it is 6%. "The special tax regime has contributed to the legalization of many types of activities and has created opportunities for citizens to legally conduct business and earn income from side jobs, ensuring additional tax revenues to the Russian budget. We consider it advisable, after the experiment, which lasts for 10 years, to assess its effectiveness and propose adjustments and improvements at the federal level," concluded the first deputy minister of economy.
