      This year, the event will take place in a new format - "From Dawn to Dusk", combining sports competitions, a large entertainment program, and a concert. The differences of this anniversary race from previous ones were discussed at a press conference at "Tatar-inform". According to the head of the Mendeleevsky district, Robert Iskandarov, over the years, the project has ceased to be exclusively a sports event and has turned into a large family festival. "If the first competitions were primarily focused on sports, it gradually became clear that people come not only for medals. They come for the atmosphere. Therefore, musical venues, children's entertainment, photo zones, and gastronomic spaces appeared," he noted. This year, the organizers have completely updated the concept. The festival will take place in a Mexican style: guests will be greeted with themed decorations, costumed teams, musicians at the entrance, and a stylized food court featuring tacos, burritos, falafel, and other dishes. As Iskandarov emphasized, for a small town, hosting such an event is of special significance. "We are the only small town in Russia that hosts the 'Race of Heroes'. We never thought that a city of 22,000 could host five thousand participants and more than ten thousand guests. For us, this is as big a celebration as City Day," said the district head. According to the organizers, this year about 5,000 participants and around 10,000 guests are expected. Yuri Razbezhkin, Deputy General Director of JSC "Ammonium", noted that the festival is becoming increasingly rich and goes far beyond competitions. "Now we have children's races, hot air balloons that can be ascended, sandboards on Toyma, motorcycle camping, and a rock concert with five headliners. There will be activities for both children and adults. The format is evolving from a regular competition into a full-fledged festival," he said. The main stage will feature bands such as "Rock Islands", Jukebox Trio, The Mood, and other performers. Guests will also be provided with a tent camp, a biker area, and relaxation and entertainment zones. At the same time, the sports component will remain the main part of the celebration, emphasized the chairman of the Federation of Obstacle Racing of Tatarstan, Andrey Modin. Participants will have to overcome muddy and water obstacles, monkey bars, walls, and other challenges, which can be tackled individually or as part of a team. One of the key events will be the Russian Championship in obstacle racing over a distance of 100 meters. "Mendeleevsk is the only small town in Russia that has a standard 100-meter obstacle course that meets international standards. Participants will compete for a place in the Russian national team and to meet the master of sports standards," noted Modin. The strongest Russian athletes will compete for the championship medals, including the winner of the Russian Cup and bronze medalist of the 2019 World Championship, Vlas Gavrilov. Additionally, there will be a GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) site at the festival, where everyone will be able to meet standards and receive a badge of distinction.

      Separate competitions have also been prepared for children. Teenagers over 15 will be able to test their strength on the 100-meter obstacle course after the Russian Championship, while participants aged 7 to 15 will have a special children's track with adapted obstacles. Another part of the festival will be the motorcycle program. The head of the Yelabuga branch of the motorcycle club "Night Wolves", Denis Baurin, reported that on the evening of July 24, a motorcycle rally will take place through the streets of Mendeleevsk, after which a motorcycle camping will open. Guests can expect demonstrations on enduro motorcycles, master classes on handling the equipment, and a tent camp. Special attention is given to the corporate format of the competitions. Dozens of teams from the largest enterprises in Tatarstan and other regions of Russia will take to the start. Only the "Ammonium" plant will present about 12 teams, and the "Azot" group of companies will have around 20. Employees of large industrial enterprises, design institutes, and transport companies will also participate in the festival.
