       The number of cybercrimes in Tatarstan decreased by forty-three percent in the first six months of this year, yet the damage still exceeded 2 billion rubles. In the Republic of Tatarstan, a sharp and encouraging decline in the number of crimes committed using information and telecommunications technologies was recorded in the first half of 2026, reports "Real Time." As stated at a press conference by Almaz Fattakhov, the prosecutor of the department overseeing investigations in the internal affairs bodies of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, from January to June, eight thousand four hundred such crimes were registered in the region, while during the same period last year, there were fourteen thousand eight hundred. Thus, the decrease amounted to a significant forty-three point three percent. Over the six months, four and a half thousand cases of fraud, one thousand three hundred cases of theft from bank accounts, and seven hundred eight crimes related to unauthorized access to computer information were identified. At the same time, the detection rate of cybercrimes was twenty-six point three percent, and the total amount of material damage caused to citizens and organizations reached 2.1 billion rubles. It was previously reported that Tatarstan became a leader in the Volga Federal District in the number of wills, with 16 thousand registered in a year: inheritance planning is increasingly being done by people aged thirty-five and older. In Kazan itself, the increase in requests for will drafting amounted to twenty percent, while in rural areas of the republic, it remains at five to seven percent.
