"Garage amnesty" extended until 2031

      The "garage amnesty" has been extended until 2031. The State Duma has adopted in the final reading amendments to the Federal Law "On the Implementation of the Land Code of the Russian Federation" regarding the extension of the simplified procedure for registering land plots under garages. State Duma Deputy Alfiya Kogogina commented: "I support the decision that citizens who have not had time to formalize their rights to a garage and the land under it should have such an opportunity. The law adopted today extends the 'garage amnesty' for another five years - until September 1, 2031." According to the document, citizens will be able to register their individual garages and the land plots under them in a simplified manner. "I would like to remind you that the first law on 'garage amnesty' was adopted by us in 2021. Over the five years of its operation, residents of Tatarstan have registered more than 25,000 garages and land plots under them in a simplified manner, while in total across the country, Russians have registered about 750,000 objects," Kogogina noted.
