      A polymer hub has been proposed to be created in Tatarstan to unite raw material producers, polymer processors, scientific organizations, and industrial enterprises in the region. This was reported by the press service of the Republic's Rais following a meeting of the board of directors of "Tatneftekhiminvest-holding," chaired by the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was also attended by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin, and the general director of the holding, Rafinat Yarullin. The initiative was put forward by the general director of "Makrokoma," Radiy Kanzafarov. He also spoke about the possibilities of cooperation with Tatarstan enterprises in the development and production of modern polymer compounds based on micro-marmore, zeolites, and their mixtures. Such products are intended for the production of packaging, building materials, pipes, products for the oil and gas industry, agriculture, and utilities. Minnikhanov instructed to strengthen cooperation with the enterprise. In the near future, the republic plans to send a delegation to explore new areas of cooperation. The meeting also discussed the prospects for the production of medical ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), which is used in the manufacture of endoprostheses for large joints. The general director of "Engineering Polymers," Alexander Zabolotnov, reported that the enterprise has mastered the full production cycle – from powder to finished semi-finished products and items. According to him, the material outperforms several foreign analogs in wear resistance. A large-tonnage production of industrial UHMWPE with a capacity of 3,000 to 10,000 tons per year was also proposed in Tatarstan. Minnikhanov instructed to consider this issue jointly with the republican Ministry of Health. Additionally, the meeting participants discussed possible cooperation between Tatarstan and the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. This involves cooperation with enterprises in the petrochemical and machine engineering sectors, the supply of products made from non-ferrous metals and cable products, as well as joint research and development projects.

      "This is a very high-tech quality enterprise. We are large consumers of metals, and we have a lot of construction. We need to work out how to bring UGMK closer to our republic," said Minnikhanov. He also suggested studying the experience of the company's engineering schools and museums and organizing knowledge exchange for children and students.
