In the Republic of Tatarstan, eight teenagers got summer jobs as assistants to the station duty officers.
A new season of the youth labor project "Path Star" has begun in Kazan. Eight schoolchildren have started working as assistants to the station duty officers at the railway station in the capital of Tatarstan as part of the youth labor team "Mainline." The project has been implemented in the republic for the third year, reports the press service of the student teams of the Republic of Tatarstan. "We try to involve minors in the projects of key employers in the movement because for schoolchildren, this is not only their first earnings but also an opportunity to make a conscious choice about their future profession. Working at the station gives teenagers a unique experience of communicating with people and getting to know modern digital services," noted Vasily Islaev, the director of the Republican Center for Student Labor Teams and deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the Russian Student Teams. According to the public figure, in the declared Year of the Passenger by Russian Railways, it is especially important that students at such a young age can try themselves in the transport industry. In his opinion, for many of them, this will be the first step into a profession. In total, in 2026, more than 500 teenagers from 46 subjects of the Federation began working at 70 railway stations across the country as part of the Russian Student Teams. The eight schoolchildren who became participants in the project in Tatarstan assist the station duty officers: they greet and see off passengers, help them navigate the station, work with digital services, and strive to create a comfortable atmosphere for guests and residents of the city. "This year I am working on the project for the second time, and if last season I was just a participant, now I am responsible for the entire team. My task is to help newcomers adapt, explain how the work at the station is organized, and support the guys throughout the season. But work is not everything: we actively participate in creative competitions and compete for the title of the best team in the country. This really brings us together and provides additional motivation," explained Anna Rzhenova, the leader of the youth labor team "Mainline." "I joined the project this year and immediately became the team commissioner. My task is to build relationships within the team, create a friendly atmosphere, and organize leisure activities. We have already won a video presentation contest, and now I am doing my best to ensure that Tatarstan wins in other creative competitions as well. I am sure we will succeed!" said her deputy and commissioner Artem Efremov. The "Path Star" project has been implemented by the Russian Student Teams in collaboration with the Directorate of Railway Stations of JSC "Russian Railways" for the third consecutive year. This year, the number of teenagers employed under the initiative has increased almost 2.5 times compared to the previous season.
In addition to working at the railway stations, the student teams of Tatarstan are actively developing other areas of youth employment. Since May of this year, 2,622 teenagers aged 14 to 17 have found work through the student teams of Tatarstan. They are engaged in landscaping and greening areas, working in the food service industry, and assisting in organizing children's recreation. The activities of the student teams of Tatarstan are coordinated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan in accordance with the goals of the national project "Youth and Children."
