      On July 23, 2026, a fire broke out on one of the streets of Leninogorsk – a garage caught fire. Unfortunately, 1 person was injured - he sustained 1st and 2nd degree burns and was hospitalized in the Central District Hospital. Currently, the circumstances of the incident are being established. Fire safety in garages is a very important aspect of operating the premises. Fires in garages mainly occur for the following reasons:

      - careless handling of fire;

      - malfunction of the garage's electrical wiring, electrical systems of vehicles;

      - violation of fire safety requirements when using heating and heating devices.

      Isolated garages are usually located in close proximity to houses. Thus, a fire in a garage can quickly spread to neighboring buildings and is characterized by difficulties in extinguishing it. The situation is complicated by the presence of containers with flammable materials and various oil mixtures stored in the garage.

      The Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work for the Leninogorsk District warns that to avoid fires and not to be left without a garage and the property inside it, the following fire safety requirements must be followed in garage areas:

      - do not smoke and do not use open flames in the garage;

      - when parking vehicles for a long time, disconnect the vehicle's electrical wiring from the battery;

      - take care of fire extinguishing means - fire extinguishers, a box of sand, etc.;

      - maintain proper fire safety order in the buildings themselves: remove fuel reserves exceeding 20 liters of gasoline and 5 liters of oil;

      - do not store work clothing soaked in fuel and lubricants in the garage;

      - it is strictly prohibited to carry out painting work in the garage, as well as washing parts with kerosene, gasoline, or other flammable liquids, as well as charging batteries on vehicles;

      - to avoid short circuits, carefully monitor the condition of electrical wiring and electrical devices;

      - use insulated tools, avoid moisture getting on wires and devices;

      - it is prohibited to use non-standard (homemade) electrical devices and extension cords to power electrical devices in garages.
