Russia and China are discussing the possibility of establishing visa-free travel for citizens on a permanent basis. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko. "We are discussing with the PRC the prospects of establishing visa-free travel for citizens on a permanent basis," Rudenko said. According to him, facilitating mutual travel remains a priority for the Russian Foreign Ministry. The introduction of a visa-free regime has already stimulated bilateral tourist exchanges: by the end of 2025, the tourist flow between the countries increased by 17% and exceeded 3 million trips. Rudenko also reported that by 2030, Russia plans to increase the volume of tourist flow from China to 5.5 million people, of which 1.8 million will be directed to the Far East. Earlier, inbound tourist flow to Russia decreased by almost 20% over six months.
