Ankara moderately and pragmatically uses its unique geographical and diplomatic positions to increase its influence in Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. "The U.S. is increasing pressure on Turkey over the purchase of Russian S-400s, demanding its return to the American security framework. In response, Ankara is striving for the status of a global power and actively promotes the slogan 'The World is More than Five,' calling for radical reform of the UN Security Council to weaken the dominance of the permanent members," informs Turkologist Vladimir Avatkov. Through this platform, Turkey positions itself as a leader and defender of the interests of developing countries, demanding a fairer distribution of global power. "However, the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and the growing involvement of the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia narrow the space for Turkish geopolitical maneuvers. In these conditions, Turkey's ability to reform the Security Council and defend its sovereignty directly depends on its readiness to withstand external pressure," summarized Avatkov.
