A new head of the sports department has been appointed in Chelny.

      At the business Monday meeting, the mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny, Nail Magdeev, introduced the new head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the City Executive Committee. Ilya Reznikov has been appointed to this position.

      Introducing the new leader, the mayor noted that Reznikov is a native of Chelny and has been working in the field of sports for many years. "Born in Tatarstan, in the city of Brezhnev, now Naberezhnye Chelny. He has dedicated himself to working in the field of sports. He started as an engineer, then worked as the deputy director of the sports schools 'Stroitel' and 'Zarya'. Before his appointment, he headed the work as the deputy director of the 'Chelny' sports school. He has a specialized education, he is a prepared person," said Magdeev.

      The head of the city emphasized that Naberezhnye Chelny is known not only as a center of automobile manufacturing but also as a city with rich sports traditions. "We have Olympic champions, we have high-performance sports. But it is equally important to engage in the development of mass physical culture. For this, all conditions have been created in the city: in recent years, many sports facilities have been built and renovated, there is a good material and technical base, a strong team of coaches, and experienced leaders of sports institutions. Considering your managerial and sports experience, we wish you success," Magdeev addressed the new leader.

      Ilya Reznikov was born in 1987 in Brezhnev (now Naberezhnye Chelny). He has two higher education degrees: in 2012 he graduated from KSTU-KAI with a degree in "Technology, Equipment, and Automation of Machine Engineering Production," and in 2019 he graduated from Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University with a degree in "Pedagogical Education."

      Since 2012, Reznikov has been working in the field of sports. He held the position of deputy director of the children's and youth sports school 'Stroitel', led the sports school 'Zarya', and before his appointment was the deputy director of the 'Chelny' sports school.
