New format from the Institute for Urban Development

      From August 13 to September 18, the municipalities of Tatarstan will host Tatar "fatirniks" for the first time — modern courtyard musical evenings in the open air with tea drinking, games, and karaoke.

      A new format from the Institute for the Development of Cities

      By order of the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Institute for the Development of Cities of the Republic is launching a series of Tatar "fatirniks" in 12 municipalities. The project will be part of the "Kurshe" festival and will cover areas where quality applications for the "Kurshe. Miras" competition were previously not submitted.

      As explained at a press conference at "Tatar-inform" by the curator of event programs at the Institute for the Development of Cities of Tatarstan, Danil Danilov, the new format is intended to serve as a visual example for local authors:

      "In some municipalities, projects for 'Kurshe. Miras' were not presented. This is either due to a weak idea or because the authors did not have time to thoroughly develop the project and justify the budget. Therefore, we have thought through a new format where we come to the municipality and show what an event within the framework of the competition can be like and what values it can carry."

      What is a Tatar "fatirnik"?

      A Tatar "fatirnik" is a modern reinterpretation of a traditional "kvartirnik," a chamber music evening that takes place outdoors. The organizers will transform public spaces into cozy courtyard living rooms, decorated with carpets, vintage furniture, and retro decor.

      Guests can expect a rich program:

      · A traditional Tatar tea table with a samovar, herbal tea, and national treats;

      · Areas for courtyard games: chess, table tennis, hopscotch, and "rubber band";

      · Open karaoke: local performers from Kazan and other areas will take the stage, and the audience will be able to sing along to popular Tatar and Russian songs.

      "We will definitely gather local artists who perform their compositions. There will be karaoke where everyone can sing along, traditional courtyard games, and a Tatar tea table," Danilov said.

      Where and when will the "fatirniks" take place?

      The first Tatar "fatirnik" will take place on August 13 in the Laishevsky district. Subsequent events will be held in the following municipalities:

      All venues are located in public spaces that have been improved as part of the "Summer in Tatarstan" project.

      Educational program for participants

      On October 30, the Institute for the Development of Cities of Tatarstan, together with the Republican Resource Center for NGO Support, will conduct an educational program for participants of the "Kurshe" competition. Federal experts will help project authors refine their ideas, develop concepts more deeply, and identify target audiences.

      The significance of the project for the republic

      The new format of Tatar "fatirniks" addresses several tasks at once: it provides municipalities with a ready-made model for event projects, preserves and transmits cultural values through modern formats, and creates points of attraction in updated public spaces.
