Expanding boundaries: an inter-faculty group of students from KIU returned from an educational trip to China.

      Students of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov have returned from an exciting trip to China. They participated in an international summer camp at the East Liaoning University in the city of Dandong.

      The intensive two-week program harmoniously combined an intensive educational track with a rich cultural and excursion block. The participants of the program were students from various faculties of KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov, which made the group composition truly interdisciplinary. The main goal of the camp was to improve students' language skills, overcome the communication barrier, and get acquainted with a completely new country and culture. The program included daily practical classes in Chinese with native speakers. Lectures and interactive sessions were adapted to different levels of student preparation. In addition to language classes, KIU students attended a series of master classes and interactive sessions on Chinese culture, learned basic techniques of Chinese calligraphy, and participated in the preparation of famous Chinese dumplings under the guidance of chefs, discovering the secrets of proper dough rolling, shaping, and creating authentic fillings. The excursion program of the camp allowed KIU students named after V.G. Timiryasov to see key historical, technological, and natural attractions of the Liaoning region. One of the most vivid and memorable moments was the ascent to one of the sections of the Great Wall of China, from where stunning mountain landscapes opened up.

      "The trip was unforgettable! The Chinese side welcomed us very warmly and organized productive and memorable days! The schedule was so busy that we hardly noticed how our days passed! My and many of the guys' most cherished dreams came true! The most memorable was that we saw the Great Wall of China and the ruined bridge in Dandong! Everyone was thrilled, and we couldn't believe our eyes! Definitely, all the cities we visited will remain in my memory! This includes Beijing, Shanghai, and Dandong! Thank you, KIU, for providing such an opportunity," noted Darina Abramova, a student of the Faculty of Applied Economics and Financial Technologies at KIU.

      Participation in the summer camp at East Liaoning University was an important step in the development of international relations for KIU. Since representatives from different faculties went to China, each student was able to view the Celestial Empire through the lens of their future profession and broaden their horizons. The students not only gained immense experience in intercultural communication but also made loyal friends among their Chinese peers. Such foreign internships prove that KIU opens up the whole world for its students, providing unique opportunities for personal, academic, and professional growth, regardless of the chosen field of study.
