The Spartakiad of the Peoples of Russia is taking place in Kazan.

      An important sports event of the week is taking place in Kazan — the Spartakiad of the Peoples of Russia, which will last until September 30 and gather 12,000 participants from 44 sports. Kazan will be one of the main venues of the tournament, where competitions will be held in 11 disciplines, including equestrian sports, gymnastics, and rowing. These competitions play a key role in preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This week, Kazan is hosting competitions in skateboarding, softball, and women's football. Skateboarding competitions continue at the extreme park "URAM." Over the weekend, winners were determined in the "park" discipline, and today, August 12, qualifications will take place in the "street" discipline. The final will be held on August 13: women's at 14:00, men's at 16:00, after which the award ceremony will take place. From August 11 to 16, the Central Stadium will host softball competitions featuring teams from six regions: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow Region, Kostroma Region, Khabarovsk Region, and the Republic of Crimea. In the group stage, teams will play for four days, and then the four best teams will compete for medals. The final is scheduled for August 16 at 13:00, immediately followed by the award ceremony. From August 14 to 18, a women's football tournament will take place at the "Labor Reserves" stadium. Teams from six regions will participate: the Republic of Tatarstan, Perm Krai, Samara Region, Rostov Region, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. Tatarstan will be represented by the women's team of the Rubin football club. Quarterfinals will be held on August 14, and semifinals on August 16. The final and the bronze medal match will take place on August 18.

      All events of the Spartakiad will be free for spectators. To visit the stadium, registration is required on the official website, except for skateboarding competitions — no registration is needed for them.
