Ahead of new performances, Dmitr spoke about his love for fingerstyle, the Bremen Town Musicians, and why playing by the fireplace is harder than on stage.
About the path and pseudonym
Music came into Dmitry's life with his first guitar. "At 17 years old — by the standards of many guitarists, that's a late start, but the desire was so strong that I immediately went to learn from Uncle Volodya. And just a couple of months later, I found myself in a rock band. Since then, I've been a musician. Dmitr is my stage pseudonym, a synonym for my name. In rock bands, I mastered the bass guitar, drums, and keyboards, but my main love is acoustic guitar," Dmitr shared.
Repertoire and favorite styles
"I do vocals and perform solo. My repertoire includes light classics, rock, and pop. If I want some drive, I play 'The Song About Friends' from the Bremen Town Musicians. In calm moments, I play Igor Kornelyuk's instrumental 'The City That Doesn't Exist.' I'm especially close to the fingerstyle style," the musician shares.
Performances and future plans
On May 15, Dmitr gave a solo concert at the "Atmosphere" dome, regularly participates in gala concerts at the Sergey Gassar Culture Palace, and performed at the "Our Heroes" festival in Kazan. A dream of a festival for everyone
"Right now, I want to add live evenings with guitar to our lives — outdoors or indoors. A competition or festival where anyone can express themselves. After all, playing at home is one thing, but stepping onto the stage and dealing with nerves is a much more serious task," Dmitr says.
Rock soul and wishes for listeners
From the close in spirit: "Autumn" by DDT, "Jamaica" by Chaif, "No Way Out" by Splin, "Romance" by Noskov, "Samsara" by Basta, and many others. The musician wishes all listeners good music, positivity, support, and sports. "Rock for me is drive. If I want that state, I take the guitar, and mastery takes a back seat.
