      The artist from Tatarstan, Alexander Popov, has made it to the shortlist of the Volga Federal District project "FormART" with his work "Family Traditions." His mural, which adorns the facade of a house on Usmanov Street in Naberezhnye Chelny, is currently participating in a public voting on the "Gosuslugi" portal. The application from the republic is listed under number four. The wall depicts a scene where a grandmother and her granddaughter are molding traditional triangles. As the author himself explained, there are no random elements in the composition: the dove symbolizes peace, while the branch represents the connection between generations and the transfer of experience. Popov admitted that the plot is inspired by his own childhood memories – in his family, it was always the grandmother who stood by the stove and taught her relatives about the national culinary culture. According to the Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs of Tatarstan, Vladislav Usanov, the goal of the project is to channel the creative energy of young artists for the benefit of the urban environment. He noted that the work of the Chelny author fits organically into the surrounding architectural ensemble. This year, Tatarstan set a record for the number of submitted applications – there were 96, which placed the region second among all subjects of the Volga Federal District. The finals of the competition, with the announcement of the winners, will take place in Kirov from August 21 to 23, but the fate of the prize place largely depends on the results of the online voting, which is currently ongoing.
