According to the expert, the leave should be used both continuously and on separate days. The chairman of the organization "Fathers Nearby" proposed extending this guarantee until the child reaches 14 years of age, and for children with disabilities – until 18 years. He believes that the right to leave should not depend on the father's marital status or cohabitation with the child. "The key legal criterion should be the presence of parental rights and responsibilities," the expert noted. In his opinion, the measure should also apply to adoptive parents. According to Kurbakov, parents often have to combine work and family responsibilities, carving out time to communicate with their children. Additional paid days off could help strengthen the family and give fathers more opportunities to participate in the child's life.
