      Many buyers still do not know how to insist on receiving a receipt when the seller refuses to issue it or suggests transferring money to a phone. In the "Question to the Expert" section, employees of the Federal Tax Service of Tatarstan explained how to act in such situations. The use of cash register equipment (KKT) is regulated by Federal Law No. 54-FZ of May 22, 2003. According to its provisions, every seller is obliged to form and issue a cash register receipt to the buyer when making a payment. The buyer receives it on paper or, with prior consent, in electronic form to a phone number or email address. It is important to distinguish between the KKT cash register receipt and the receipt issued by a banking acquiring terminal. The latter only confirms the fact of funds being debited from the account and is not a fiscal document that replaces the receipt provided for in 54-FZ. To obtain an electronic version of the receipt, the buyer can use the service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia "My Receipts Online," if they agree to this form and have provided the seller with contact details (phone number or email) before the payment. The document must be sent at the moment of payment. To increase citizens' legal literacy, the FNS has developed a mobile application "Receipt Check," which allows checking the cash register receipt for compliance with KKT legislation by scanning a QR code or entering the details manually. The service provides complete information about the purchase, allows verifying the seller's integrity, saving the receipt in an electronic archive, and, if necessary, sending a request to the tax authority. The Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan recommends that citizens avoid payments without using cash register equipment, including transfers to third-party bank cards or accounts. Such schemes deprive the buyer of legal guarantees and create conditions for supporting illegal entrepreneurial activities, the tax service stated.
