The leaders of student teams in Tatarstan are working for the first time in the career guidance camp "AgroLeague."

      At Kazan State Agrarian University, the career guidance camp "AgroLeague" has started, where schoolchildren are introduced to agro-technologies. For the first time, the camp counselors are participants of the pedagogical team "White Dragon" – students from the same university.

      How student teams help schoolchildren decide on a profession

      The "AgroLeague" program is designed for students in grades 7-10 and takes place in the format of two weekly shifts. Participants can choose one of five areas: from programming neural networks for diagnosing plant diseases to assembling robots and microclonal propagation. The counselors — 20 members of the pedagogical team "White Dragon" — not only organize leisure activities but also share professional experience. The director of the Republican Center for Student Labor Teams, Vasily Islaev, emphasized the importance of career guidance for schoolchildren: "We are not just helping children spend their time interestingly, but we are introducing them to in-demand professions in the agro-industrial complex. This helps to form a personnel reserve for the industry — schoolchildren can become future applicants to KGAU and then participants in student teams."

      The shifts are filled with practical activities. The kids conduct experiments in greenhouses, learn to pilot drones, and diagnose the condition of animals using simulators. The program also includes master classes, team cases, and an excursion to the Agro-Biotechnology Park of KGAU. Each shift features Student Team Day — a thematic holiday where schoolchildren learn about other areas of the movement.

      Counselors — KGAU students

      Students from KGAU were specifically chosen to work in "AgroLeague" because they can not only organize leisure activities but also share specialized knowledge. Before starting, all counselors underwent free training for the profession of "counselor."

      Victoria Odegov, a member of the "White Dragon" team, shared her experience: "This is my first job as a counselor. It is especially valuable that I can combine it with my future profession — sharing knowledge with schoolchildren and discovering new things about agriculture in Tatarstan together with them. The kids' interest in agro-technologies grows right during the shift, and I hope that many will connect their lives with the agro-industrial complex."

      The scale of the movement and the national project

      In 2026, more than 15,000 students are working in agricultural teams across Russia. They work as zootechnicians, mechanization assistants, veterinarians, technologists, and agronomists. In Tatarstan, the activities of student teams are coordinated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
