13.7 million for one scam: how fraudsters deceived a resident of Nizhnekamsk out of money

      A classic scheme involving a "safe account" resulted in a loss of over 13 million rubles for a resident of Nizhnekamsk. The scammers acted in stages: first, they called pretending to be from the military department, then from the support service of "Gosuslugi." The scenario was meticulously crafted: the victim was informed about a data leak and supposedly unauthorized transfers made in her name, provoking panic. Convincing the woman of the need to "save" her savings, the fraudsters guided her actions step by step. Ultimately, the victim withdrew money not only from her accounts but also from her children's accounts, and then handed cash in parts to couriers in two cities—Nizhnekamsk and Kazan. The total damage amounted to 13,704,000 rubles. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated based on the victim's statement. Law enforcement reminds: employees of government agencies and banks never ask to transfer money to "safe accounts" and do not require cash to be handed over through couriers.
