Bishop Filaret was appointed to the Chistopol diocese by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on July 16, 2026. The meeting of the Head of Tatarstan with the archpastors took place in Nizhnekamsk. The head of the Nizhnekamsk district, Radmir Belyaev, also participated. Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed Bishop Filaret and wished him fruitful service on Tatarstan soil.
