The experience of Tatarstan is becoming an important marker of the effectiveness of social investments: targeted support from the state has been received by more than a thousand newborns.

      From January to August, targeted assistance was provided to 1,007 families with newborn children. Each gift set is not just a box of items, but a material confirmation that the state shares the joy of parenthood and is ready to lend a shoulder at the most responsible moment.

      Implementation of demographic policy

      Since the beginning of 2026, Tatarstan has consistently secured its status as a region with one of the most effective packages of social support for families. Special attention is given to supporting defenders of the Fatherland. Of the total number of recipients, 286 sets were handed over to families of participants in the special military operation.

      By implementing the tasks of the national project "Family," the republic is forming sets based on the principle of maximum practicality. Each set includes essential items that cover the basic needs of a child for several months ahead: a transformer jumpsuit; a cocoon pillow for safe sleep; traditional felt boots (relevant for the climatic conditions of the Volga region); a quilt; a terry set; diapers and swaddles; hygiene products: laundry detergent, soap, gel-shampoo, and light body cream.

      Distribution occurs directly in maternity hospitals on the day of discharge, freeing young parents from the need to collect certificates and visit institutions in the first days of the baby's life.

      As previously stated by the first deputy chair of the State Duma Committee on Family Issues, Tatyana Butskaya, such initiatives should become the norm for all 56 regions of the country, where programs to assist newborns are currently in place. Even distribution of boxes and the refusal to divide children into "first" and "second-third" — this approach lays the foundation for sustainable demographic growth in Russia.
