Tax notifications for residents of Tatarstan: new procedure for receiving from August 1

      Citizens with a verified account on "Gosuslugi" receive documents in electronic form. Paper versions will only be preserved for those who do not have access to internet services.

      In Russia, new rules for receiving tax notifications came into effect on August 1, 2026. Citizens with a verified account on the "Gosuslugi" portal now receive documents automatically in electronic form. Previously, a separate application had to be submitted and certified with an electronic signature. This procedure has now been abolished.

      The innovation applies to notifications regarding transport and land taxes, personal property tax, as well as income tax not withheld by the tax agent and tax on interest from deposits. Such documents are usually sent out in the fall, and taxes must be paid by December 1. "The electronic notification simultaneously appears in the personal account on 'Gosuslugi' and on the FNS website in the taxpayer's cabinet. The document contains all necessary information: TIN, data on the taxable object, the amount and time of tax payments, a unique identifier, and the details of the unified tax account," the tax authority reminds. Paper notifications will only be sent by mail to those who do not have a verified account in the ESIA or access to electronic services. It is worth noting that a tax notification is considered delivered as soon as it appears in the personal account, even if the person has not opened or read it.
