A gymnasium named after Tolstoy has opened in the Laishevsky district after a major renovation.
In the village of Nikolskoye in the Laishevsky district, a gymnasium named after Leo Tolstoy with an ethnocultural component opened its doors after a major renovation. The solemn opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Laishevsky district, Ildus Zaripov, and State Duma deputy Tatiana Larionova. The educational institution, founded in 1966, has completely transformed by the beginning of the new school year. Previously, the school's designed capacity was 100 places, while 344 children were studying here. Next to it stood an abandoned boarding school building. After the major renovation, both buildings were combined with a common entrance, while the primary and secondary schools are now separated. This allowed for the addition of 192 new places and the opening of 8 additional classes. The school now features modern restrooms on each floor, an updated cloakroom, and a spacious recreational area. The facade of the building has also been renovated. Major repairs were carried out in the cafeteria and the gym. The second floor is decorated in the spirit of the writer's name — a museum exhibition dedicated to Leo Tolstoy has been opened here. The area around the school has also been updated — the road leading to the educational institution has been repaired. "Today is a great holiday for us. We are opening a school that has become modern, bright, and cozy. This is not just a renovation — it is a new space where children will be comfortable learning, and teachers will be able to work. And it is gratifying that we have preserved the most important thing — the spirit of the school, its name, its history. Our task is for children in the Laishevsky district to receive quality education in decent conditions. And we will continue this work," noted the head of the district, Ildus Zaripov, addressing the teachers and students. Creating modern, safe, and comfortable conditions for education and upbringing is one of the key tasks that aligns with the goals and objectives of the national project "Youth and Children."
