Kazan's "Ak Bars" officially announced the signing of a two-way contract with 23-year-old forward Ravil Yakupov for a duration of one year. The decision followed a trial with the club, after which the team's management made a positive decision. Yakupov is a product of the "Ak Bars" system. He spent his entire professional career in clubs associated with the Kazan organization. Yakupov is a native of Orenburg; in the 2019–2020 season, the hockey player moved to the Almetyevsk hockey system. The player completed the full cycle of summer training with the Kazan team. Previously, the forward played for "Neftyanik" from Almetyevsk in the VHL. In the past season, he played 60 matches for this team, scoring 45 points (29 + 16).
The KHL regular season for the 2026/27 season starts on September 5. Ak Bars' first opponent in the new season will be Novosibirsk's "Sibir" — the match will take place in Kazan.
