In the new academic year, nearly 16 thousand first-graders will sit at the desks of Kazan schools for the first time, and the total number of students in educational institutions in the capital of Tatarstan will reach 183 thousand children.
As reported on Monday, August 24, at a traditional business meeting by the head of the Education Department of the Executive Committee of Kazan, Irek Rizvanov, the final figures may still be adjusted, as the admission campaign continues until September 5, and the department expects to receive additional applications from parents. The relevant data is provided by "Tatar-inform." According to a statement from the department representative, the absolute leader in the number of first classes this year is Lyceum No. 186, where 380 children were distributed across 11 classes. At Gymnasium No. 107, 11 classes have also been formed for 295 first-graders. At Lyceum No. 182, 292 children will sit at desks, for whom 9 classes have been opened. The educational complex "Adymnar" expects 289 children in 9 first classes. By the beginning of the school year, repair work has been carried out in schools. It is planned that on Knowledge Day, first-graders will receive "Diaries of Good Deeds" from the city administration, and a thematic lesson on extremism prevention is scheduled for September 3. A few days ago, it was reported that a solemn opening of the Culture Days of the Republic of Tatarstan took place in Moscow, which this year is being held in the Russian capital for the sixteenth time and is an important event in the cultural life of the two regions.
