A resident of Kazan who owed the bank more than 1.2 million rubles drove himself to the court bailiffs and helped have his car seized. The man received a notice of the debt via Gosuslugi but did not pay. Instead of hiding, he parked his BMW in the closed official parking lot at the bailiff's building and went about his business.
As Tatar‑inform was told by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the employees noticed an unfamiliar car, checked the plates and found that it belonged to the debtor. The parking barrier was immediately lowered, and a tow truck and the bank were called.
When the man returned, he could only take his belongings from the car and watch it being taken to the impound lot for subsequent sale to cover the debt. To get the car back he now urgently needs to repay the entire debt of 1.2 million rubles, pay a fine of 90 thousand rubles and cover towing and storage charges.
