Biologists from Kazan Federal University (KFU) found Red-listed mosses, fungi, and plants in the Aznakaevsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      KFU scientists have discovered a number of rare and protected species of plants, mosses and fungi on the territory of the Chatyr-Tau reserve in the Aznakayevsky District of Tatarstan. Among the significant finds, specialists confirmed the presence of tall pearlwort, Onosma simplicissima, dwarf almond and egg-fruited astragalus. In addition, for the first time in the district the Red Book moss Grimmia kosonogaya was found, as well as the rare fungus Lenzites Varnier. Special attention during the work was paid to springs, since in the conditions of the dry forest-steppe they serve as the most important centers for the conservation of bryophytes.
