      The Tagansky Court of Moscow found the companies Twitch, Telegram and Pinterest guilty of violating Russian legislation and fined each of them 7 million rubles, the court’s press service reported.

      The court determined that the services failed to fulfill the obligation to monitor and restrict access to prohibited information. Moreover, the violation of the law occurred repeatedly.

      Commenting on the court decision, State Duma deputy Anton Nemkin said: “If domestic services are forced to strictly follow the law, then foreign companies often allow themselves to operate according to the principle ‘as convenient for them.’ Such an attitude can only be seen as a manifestation of disrespect for the state and its users.” For this reason, the fine, according to Nemkin, is merely the inevitable result of the companies’ violation of Russian legislation.
