Residents of Nurlat became the heroes of the radio program "Tatars: At My Home — My Own Song."

      Representatives of the World Congress of Tatars, led by the deputy head of the executive committee — head of the committee for work with branches in the Republic of Tatarstan, Irek Sharipov, paid a working visit to Nurlat. The visit program was eventful. Its main objectives were to hold a meeting with activists of the local branch and to record the radio program “Tatarlar: үз өемдә – үз көем.” This project is implemented by the World Congress of Tatars in cooperation with GTRK “Tatarstan.”

      As part of the visit, the guests met with the head of the Nurlat district, Damir Ishkineev. In an interview for the program, Damir Azatovich spoke about the district’s place and significance in the life of the republic, key indicators of various sectors, socio-economic development, the demographic situation, and plans for the future.

      They also covered issues of national education, folk culture, and religious life in Nurlat. Local activists who make a significant contribution to the socio-cultural development of the district spoke about their achievements. The program will be broadcast on the channel “Radio Russia – Tatarstan.”

      “Whatever direction we touch on — religion, education, or culture — it is clear that a large and effective amount of work is being carried out in the Nurlat district. Both the older generation and the youth are involved in it. I would especially like to note the assistance to the fighters of the special military operation. I wish the district’s residents good luck, and may this work be long-lasting,” said Leila Valieva, a specialist at the information center of the World Congress of Tatars.

      A round table — a meeting of the board of the World Congress of Tatars with members of the local branch — was held at the City Palace of Culture.

      “For us it is important that people who can bring something new to its work participate in the life of national communities. In the Nurlat branch, representatives of the fields of education, culture, science, religious figures, and the district leadership are actively working. Thanks to these joint efforts, such an important institution of civil society as a national public organization is developing. The Nurlat branch is headed by Alfiya Salikhovna Galautdinova — one of the most experienced and effective leaders. We have come here more than once to study your experience and have shown it to other districts, because you have many developments. We greatly appreciate this and strive to spread it,” emphasized Irek Sharipov.

      During the meeting, participants discussed pressing problems and outlined plans for the near future. Proposals were voiced to create a local branch center, to organize screenings of Tatar films in the cinema, and other initiatives.

      At the end of the event, active members of the local branch of the World Congress of Tatars were awarded letters of appreciation.

      The head of the local branch of the organization of Tatar women “Ak Kalfak,” Guliya Galyamova, expressed gratitude to Alfiya Galautdinova for her fruitful work and organization of national-cultural activities in the district, congratulated her on her upcoming birthday, and presented a gift on behalf of the members of the organization.
