They want to renovate the facades of six buildings opposite the new building of the Kamal Theatre in Kazan for half a billion rubles.

      The facades of six buildings opposite the new building of Kazan’s Kamal Theater will be refurbished for 561 million rubles. The work concerns buildings located on Khadi Taktash Street. This follows from tenders posted on the government procurement website. The client for the work is the state budgetary institution "Glavstroy RT."

      It is planned to carry out major repairs of the facades of the following houses on Khadi Taktash: No. 95, 97, 99, 101, 103 and 105. Part of the houses must be handed over by December 1, 2026, and the remainder by January 18, 2027.

      Note that these are not the only improvement works underway on Khadi Taktash Street. In March it became known that two new residential complexes with a total area of 33,073 square meters could be built near the new Kamal Theater building. Construction of one of them is planned on the site of the "Volga" garage cooperative.

      In July it was reported that Kazan would undertake comprehensive territorial development (CTD) within the borders of Khadi Taktash, Nazarbayev and Marsel Salimzhanov streets. The area in question is 2.5 hectares. In particular, as part of the development, about 30 garages are planned to be demolished on the site, most of which belong to the "Titan" garage cooperative.

      The new Kamal Theater building was opened on January 20. Its construction began in the winter of 2023. The investment volume was estimated at 13 billion rubles. However, as BUSINESS Online wrote, the cost of constructing the theater jumped almost twofold to 29.2 billion rubles. The area of the new seven-story building is 56,000 sq. m; the theater has four auditoriums with almost 1,500 seats in total.
