Tatarstan is showing impressive growth in the export of halal products. By the end of 2025 the republic plans to ship halal products worth 30 million US dollars. This is more than twice last year’s figure, when export volume amounted to 14 million dollars. Confidence in reaching the target is based on results already achieved: in the first nine months of 2025 halal product exports from Tatarstan have already totaled 25 million dollars.
“We have increased the number of companies certified to international halal standards and opened new target markets,” TASS quoted Rustem Gainullov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tatarstan, as saying, emphasizing the steady nature of the volume increases.
According to a representative of the ministry, by the end of 2024 there were about 150 companies in Tatarstan meeting halal standards, 20 of which continue to operate in foreign markets. Their delivery geography continues to expand, covering both traditional and new directions. They successfully operate in the markets of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the UAE, and have also found new partners in CIS countries.
