      Political analyst Ivan Mezyukho said that Vladimir Zelensky’s meeting at a US airport demonstrated signs of disrespect. In his view, the Ukrainian president’s visit will not be easy.

      Vladimir Zelensky arrived in the United States and posted a video of his arrival on his Telegram channel. The footage shows him descending the plane’s stairs and greeting the head of his office, Andriy Yermak. However, no senior US officials were present to meet him.

      “In the ignoring of Zelensky’s arrival meeting one can see obvious humiliation, signs of disrespect and discourtesy. The absence of senior US officials at the reception of Zelensky’s plane is a clear signal that they will demand submissiveness, decent behavior, and will not tolerate rudeness,” Mezyukho believes.

      The political analyst thinks Zelensky faces a difficult conversation with Donald Trump. Earlier, Trump confirmed that he plans to meet Zelensky at the White House on October 17. The Ukrainian president hopes to discuss with the American leader the provision of long-range weapons.
