      In Kazan, plans are underway to reform the social protection system: four district offices, which are experiencing staff shortages, will be merged into a single centralized administration. The draft decree of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan is currently undergoing an anti-corruption review.

      According to the explanatory note, of the 21 authorized positions in these offices only 11 are filled. The staff shortage is explained by the fact that the offices cannot compete with higher-paying offers on the labor market.

      In this regard, a decision has been made to combine several offices into a single department of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan. The new department will be located at 37 Yamasheva Avenue.

      After the reorganization, the number of social protection employees in Kazan will be reduced from 21 to 15. At the same time, as stated in the document, the remaining employees can expect a 28% pay increase.

      Currently, seven social protection branches operate in the city — one in each district.
