Kazan police detained a female courier for participating in a fraud scheme.
She is currently linked to two episodes of criminal activity. The total damage amounts to 2.5 million rubles. One of the crimes was committed against a 78‑year‑old pensioner. Unknown callers rang her home phone and told her that her accounts were under threat. Frightened, the woman began to follow the instructions she was given. At the agreed time, in the yard of her house, the woman handed a package containing cash to a female courier. Another resident of Kazan, deceived by the scammers, lost more than 1 million rubles.
Kazan police quickly tracked down the accomplice in the fraud scheme. The suspect, born in 2006, was detained by officers at her place of residence. The native of Pestrechinsky District of the republic fully admitted her guilt.
During the investigation the suspect will remain under an undertaking not to leave and to observe proper conduct.
