The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan reminded the public about safety during the holidays.

      Ahead of the upcoming weekends and holidays, employees of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Tatarstan appealed to the republic's residents to observe safety measures.

      As of November 1, navigation for small vessels in the region has ended. Going out onto the water is now strictly prohibited. This rule applies to all vessels — even those that are not required to be registered with the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels (GIMS). Violators face fines of up to 15,000 rubles, as well as seizure of the vessel and its placement in a guarded impound lot. The department reminds that the water temperature is currently only 4–5 degrees Celsius, and going out on the water is life-threatening.

      Rescuers drew special attention to fire safety.

      "Do not leave electrical appliances and stoves unattended, use only properly functioning heaters, do not smoke indoors, especially when tired or intoxicated," EMERCOM emphasized.

      In addition, officials urged parents not to leave children unattended.

      According to the department, more than three thousand fires have occurred in Tatarstan since the beginning of the year. 104 people died, including five children. In most cases, these tragedies occur due to carelessness and inattention at home.

      Rescuers recommend installing autonomous smoke detectors in homes. These devices respond to smoke and warn of danger with a loud signal, which often helps save lives.
