The amateur Russian Cup "Masters" in aquatic sports concluded at the Palace of Water Sports in Kazan. From November 12 to 17, the capital of Tatarstan gathered a record number of participants — more than 500 amateur athletes aged from 20 to 87 from various regions of the country. This event truly became historic for the All-Russian "Masters" movement. For the first time in Russia, under the auspices of the All-Russian Swimming "Masters" Federation (VFPM), the Russian Cup competitions in four aquatic disciplines were combined within a single tournament: swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and diving. "The Russian Cup" traditionally attracts the strongest athletes in the "Masters" category who, despite their amateur status, demonstrate the highest skill, incredible endurance and devotion to their beloved sport. "Holding such a large-scale tournament in Kazan is a landmark event not only for Tatarstan but also for amateur sport across our country," said Ildar Sadriev, Deputy Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan. "Sports life can be active, eventful and full of bright competitive moments at any age."
The Cup was held as part of the state program "Sport of Russia", which confirms the popularization of mass sport and physical culture among all age groups of the population. All results of the completed competitions can be found on the official website of the All-Russian Swimming "Masters" Federation.
