A man from Kazan was sentenced to 12.5 years in a penal colony for killing his ex-wife’s boyfriend.

      In Kazan, a court handed down a sentence to a 45-year-old local resident who killed a man out of jealousy.

      According to the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan, the Kazan resident had only just been released from prison, where he had been serving a sentence for a previous crime. While he was incarcerated his wife divorced him and began seeing another man. The day after his release he went to her home and found his acquaintance there.

      A quarrel broke out between them. During the fight the man grabbed a knife and inflicted fatal wounds on his acquaintance.

      After that he photographed the dead man lying in a pool of blood and sent the photo to his ex-wife and acquaintances via a messenger app.

      The court found him guilty of murder and sentenced him to 12.5 years in a penal colony.
