An international project about Yanka Kupala's travels opens in Pechishchi.
On November 21, as part of international cultural cooperation, the exhibition project "Yanka Kupala. Paths. Roads." opened at the Yanka Kupala Museum in the village of Pechishchi, a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. The exhibition was prepared by the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala of the Republic of Belarus.
The exhibition is a brief report on the life path and travels of Belarus’s first national poet, playwright and translator Yanka Kupala.
The exhibition was created on the basis of documents from the holdings of the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala, as well as materials from open sources, and tells the story of the poet’s creative and life path.
The life of this classic of Belarusian literature was full of journeys. The exhibition covers the key routes of his life:
- Youth and the search for knowledge: trips to Vilnius and St. Petersburg.
- Forced relocations: taking refuge in Moscow during the First World War and evacuation to Kazan during World War II — a journey that became one of the most difficult and lonely for the poet.
- Native expanses: travels across his beloved Belarus, including the dacha in Levki, which for many years served as the Lutsevich family’s summer retreat.
Dates: The exhibition can be viewed from November 21 to December 20 at the Yanka Kupala Museum in the village of Pechishchi (Verkhneuslonsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan).
