      Large-scale exercises were held in Zainsk District, during which emergency response services practiced actions in the event of a large-scale emergency. The drills were aimed at rehearsing the interaction of all structures and checking their readiness for real threats.

      Day one: deployment of a reception evacuation point

      November 20 was dedicated to practicing assistance to the population. The village club PEP-11 held a command exercise on deploying a reception evacuation point (PEP). During the drill the key stages were rehearsed:

      - Rapid deployment of the point’s infrastructure.

      - Organized reception, registration and placement of the affected.

      - Provision of first medical aid.

      - Functioning of specialized zones: mother-and-child room, information desk and public-order groups.

      Employees of all organizations in the village of Aksarino took part in the exercises. At the end of the day, the staff’s performance and the point’s readiness received high marks from the inspectors.

      Day two: rescue from the "elements" in Stary Tokmak

      On November 21 events unfolded to eliminate the consequences of the spring flood. According to the exercise scenario, melting snow caused the water level in the area of the settlement to reach a critical mark. Half the village was in the zone of simulated flooding, which required the urgent evacuation not only of people but also of livestock from private homesteads. Rescue services, veterinarians and volunteers organized the transfer of the simulated animals to a safe area — a private entrepreneur’s farm — working through all stages of the operation.

      “Such exercises are an opportunity to practice, in a calm environment, the interaction between municipal, emergency and veterinary services until it becomes automatic,” the exercise organizers noted. “We must be confident that in the event of a real threat everyone will know their task and all actions will be coordinated. Today we have confirmed that Stary Tokmak is ready for such a development of events.”
