      Malefactors are creating fake communities in messaging apps and social networks offering to help search for missing participants of the special military operation. The Ministry of Digital Development of Tatarstan drew attention to this phenomenon.

      The agency emphasized that the scammers' goal is "not support, but the theft of funds and the collection of personal data through the distribution of malicious software."

      The creators of fake groups and chats try to contact relatives of those missing in action in order to extract personal information from the servicemember's relatives or to organize fundraisers under the guise of "help."

      The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan urged people not to join unverified chats, not to follow suspicious links, and not to send personal data to unknown persons. "All official matters are handled through government agencies!" the ministry added.
