The Republic of Tatarstan is seeing an increase in the number of victims in road traffic accidents, which became the subject of discussion at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin reported that in the first 10 months of 2025, 275 people died in traffic accidents, which exceeds the target figure of the federal project “Road Traffic Safety,” according to which 268 deaths had been forecast.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, measures to improve road traffic safety were discussed. Minnikhanov noted that despite prevention efforts, the fatality figures remain alarming. He urged the road traffic safety commissions to work more actively and to pay attention not only to mortality but also to the number of injured.
In addition, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the need for parental responsibility in situations where minors get behind the wheel of vehicles such as ATVs and motorcycles.
